Dear GVLL Families

Happy New Year!

Thank you to everyone who attended the evaluation tryouts. These evaluations are if your child was between the ages of 8-12. If you missed tryouts for any reason, your child will still be able to play, no worries, they will just be placed in the lowest division for their age group or will be assigned a blind number for the draft. Every little leaguer plays!!

Late registration is upon us, if you haven't signed up, you will need to do so prior to being waitlisted, we are nearing the end of sign ups with the draft next week.

If you are playing in the AA and up division, your managers will be reaching out the last two weeks of the month.

If you are single A and below, you will most likely hear from your team manager the last week of the month or the first two weeks of February.

DOCUMENTS: We no longer collect documents. All documents will need to be uploaded into your account. If you know you are missing something, please do so by January 21 or your child may not be able to be placed on a team as we need to make sure all verifications are complete. This is a crucial step this season. If your child is between the league ages of 4-7, you do not need to show proof of boundary, just a birth certificate.

Please see below what needs to be uploaded for us to verify your player:

  1. Birth certificate (every player - new and returning)

  2. School form (download from our website)

OR

  1. 3 Proofs of address for 3 separate categories. (a school form is preferred). https://www.littleleague.org/downloads/residency-checklist/

Up top is a list of important dates, please mark them down. Baseball season is upon us and we are fully underway with the season on the backend.

PLAYER REQUEST: Please email all player requests, to [email protected]. I know some of you have sent requests to various board members, and while we have those, it's always a good idea to send them to one place, we get busy and we don’t want to miss anyones request. Please have all requests sent in by Sunday night, January 26th. We will begin to start forming teams for the younger divisions that week and want to try to fulfill what we can. Requests can only be made for players league 4-7.

We would like to introduce you to our new coach coordinator, Jesse Cloyd. Jesse can be reached at [email protected] He will be going over details at the manager meeting.

If you are interested in helping this season we are still in need of an equipment manager, events coordinator and a field maintenance coordinator, along with a UIC. If you are interested in any of the following volunteer roles, please contact Aaron at [email protected] or Kelly at [email protected]

If you submitted a manager or head coach application, we thank you for stepping up. We have done one round of voting and will be doing some more as we go. If you are league age 8-14 you have been contacted. If you are part of the younger division, we have not completed all our voting yet and will do so in the coming weeks. We did have a few more applications then we did teams, so we really appreciate everyone who sent it. It is always hard to narrow it down with such an amazing group of families in our league. We will let all the managers know who submitted applications so they can reach out and hopefully bring you on as a coach. You can always reach out to the manager and offer your assistance.

We also have an app with some great features, please download the stack team app and search for Grass Valley Little League.
